2023 marked a very special milestone for us:
We proudly celebrated 25 years of dedicated swab production – driven by passion and precision. Since our founding, we have continuously evolved and are proud to offer handcrafted surgical patties of the highest quality.
neuro-competence GmbH is located in Sohland an der Spree, in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. Our location is ideal – just 3 km from the Czech border and 30 km from the Polish border – placing us in the heart of Central Europe, in the beautiful region of Upper Lusatia.
We supply our surgical patties throughout Germany and Europe.
We work closely with leading German university hospitals and count internationally renowned medical distributors among our clients.
Over the years, our products have earned an excellent reputation for their quality and reliability.
neuro-competence GmbH is led by a dedicated Managing Partner, Heike Semprich, and supported by a passionate team of 12 employees, including 7 experienced seamstresses.

Company History
The history of neuro-competence GmbH dates back to 1998, when the company was founded under the name Perlei GmbH and began producing neurosurgical patties.
In 2012, two distribution partners, Mr. Karlheinz Göhl and Mr. Martin Engel, together with a silent partner, took over the company and continued its operations under the new name neuro-competence GmbH.
Over time, there were several changes in the shareholder structure.
In 2015, Mr. Engel stepped down as a partner, and Mr. Göhl became the controlling shareholder.
In 2016, Mr. Göhl’s shares were acquired by Mr. Gottfried Greiner.
As of December 31, 2022, Mr. Greiner resigned as Managing Director and, as of February 28, 2023, also left the company as a shareholder.
Since then, Ms. Heike Semprich, previously known as the company’s operations manager and familiar voice on the phone, has taken over the management of neuro-competence GmbH.
She has been officially registered as Managing Director since January 1, 2023.
Ms. Semprich, already well known to many of our clients, is looking forward to continuing our collaboration.
She is personally available to support you with any inquiries or concerns.

SoftSurgicalStrip is made from premium cotton fleece, while CelluStrip is composed of high-quality cellulose fleece.
